T-shirt latch hook rug tutorial

Found this tutorial on Xoelle.

This is a great idea for someone who has the time to make but not the money to purchase.  I really want to tackle this one.  Although I think I could probably get a great result by skipping the dying process and just collecting an array of shirts of the same color with different hues.  I think I may try this for my girls' room.  The only thing that I wonder about: How do you vacuum/clean it?  This is the reason I've never purchased any shag rugs.
