Add interest to a plain glass jar by using stickers before you paint. A little peek into the contents of a jar can be made by spray painting over stickers then removing them after you paint.
I created a little label shaped window on this jar using this sticker. I gave it a couple coats of white spray paint and carefully removed the sticker when the paint was almost dry. I was afraid to pull it off after the paint was completely dry as it could have peeled the paint with it. I think I got a pretty good result.
Painters tape would give the same effect and could make for some pretty interesting jars.
