WIND SOCK TUTORIAL

Learn to make a wind sock from any pretty paper that is safe to leave hanging in the outdoors.  Easy and fun!

What you will need:

• Paper  I used a pretty page from Martha Stewart Living magazine that had a bunch of lilies on it.  You could use just about any lightweight paper, you’ll want it to flow in the wind.
  
• Clear contact paper
  
• Plastic table cloth  You can purchase this at the dollar store.  They have many colors.
  
• Scissors or paper cutter
  
• Hole puncher
  
• Ribbon
  
• Paper clip

If you are using scrapbook paper, notebook paper or something similar, you can leave it as is or cut it to your own preference.  If you are using magazine pages, trim off the torn sides and crop it to get rid of ugly edges.  I really like Martha’s magazine for all the beautiful pages.  Better Homes and Gardens would be another good one.



Next, line both sides with the clear contact paper.  This will keep it from getting wet outside if it rains.  I left a little rim of excess at the top for the ribbon placement.



Then roll it into a cylinder shape and tape it on both sides of the seam.  Add strips cut from the plastic table cloth to the bottom by taping them to the inside of the cylinder.  Punch four holes at the top and tie ribbons for it to hang from.  Make a knot at the top of all four ribbons and add a paper clip to hang.



All done!  Simple and pretty!
